Children who are still learning to self-regulate may experience high levels of stress and can benefit from adult support to regain balance.

Through play! It’s their time to process daily events and their emotions. You don’t need a lot of time for daily play, what really matters is your full participation. Regularly engaging in “Emotional Play” enables children to care for themselves daily and manage tension without harming others. This becomes as natural to them as their current coping strategies.

When teaching children new strategies, it’s important to do so when they feel good, safe, and comfortable. Children absorb new knowledge best through hands-on experience and experimentation, engaging multiple senses.
